Who is responsible

Kiers Capital Ltd. (operating as Datum) is responsible for personal information collected through this website. We handle personal information in line with Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Jeff Kiers is accountable for our privacy practices.

What we collect

  • Contact form. Your name, company, email, optional phone number, industry, optional team size, and your message.
  • Booking a consult. When you book through the embedded Calendly calendar, Calendly collects your name, email, chosen time and any answers you provide, and shares them with us.
  • Optional analytics. Only if you select “Allow analytics” (see below).
  • Standard server logs. Our hosting provider records technical information such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, for security and reliability.

How we use it

We use your information to reply to you, schedule and prepare for your consult, and, if you become a client, to deliver our services. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use the details you send us for advertising.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of providers to run this website. They process information on our behalf and may store it outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law.

  • Netlify: website hosting and contact form submissions.
  • Calendly: booking and scheduling. Calendly’s own privacy notice applies to information you enter in the calendar.
  • Google Fonts: typefaces for the website. Your browser requests fonts from Google’s servers.
  • Google Analytics: only if you opt in.

Website analytics

This site can use optional Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use it. The Google tag loads only after you select “Allow analytics.” You can decline and still use everything on the site.

With your permission, Google receives information about pages viewed, how you arrived, browser and device information, approximate location, and interactions such as clicks on booking links. Advertising personalization and Google signals are turned off. We do not send form answers, names or email addresses to Google Analytics.

You can change your choice at any time using “Analytics preferences” in the footer. Declining after accepting stops collection from your browser and removes the analytics cookies we can access. Your preference is stored in your browser’s local storage.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and booking information only as long as needed to respond and to maintain a reasonable record of our business relationship, unless a longer period is required by law. Client records are kept according to our engagement terms.

How we protect it

We use reasonable security arrangements, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access limited to people who need it, and reputable service providers.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw consent for its use, subject to legal limits. To make a request or ask a question, use the contact form. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
